The Design Challenge was comprised of a three-day “Design Jam” where students assembled at Artscape Youngplace in Toronto, to view and study the area to be redesigned. Students incorporated sustainability concepts, through the use of recycled rubber products, while demonstrating inventiveness and teamwork. This year’s challenge featured two separate competition categories:
The two categories were evaluated based on industry standards and site specifications and judged by a panel of industry professionals.
The winning landscape design will be the inspiration for the site’s revitalization, with construction anticipated to begin in Spring 2017.
The winning industrial design will be further developed in an effort to bring the product to market.
The Design Challenge weekend was a huge success, with nine teams from across the province participating. A great time was had by all!
