A direct outcome of the Used Tires Program, the emergence of a marketplace for recycled tire products is both new and exciting; possessing near untapped potential for the further development and advancement of innovative, high-value products, technologies and processes that utilize crumb rubber. In alignment with its own goals for a sustainable future for Ontario’s tires, OTS has implemented a Research and Development (R&D) program as part of its overall Market Development strategy to support projects that have the potential to support the growth of existing and future markets for tire-derived products.
Projects will be assessed on a number of criteria, some of the primary requirements include:
Advocates for an environmentally responsible and sustainable future for Ontario’s tires seeking to receive R&D funding from OTS are encouraged to review the guide, and complete and submit the R&D application.
