Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) was out in full force at the 2014 Canadian International AutoShow spreading the word about tire maintenance and the sustainable products that recycled tires are turned into. The Autoshow was a blast and the team at the OTS booth managed to speak to over 11,000 people during the week.
It was great to have a chance to chat with car enthusiasts about the work that OTS does and share some valuable tire tips that not only prolong the life of tires but can save you the equivalent of up to two weeks of gas a year. We delivered 4,124 tire maintenance demonstrations and provided people with key chains that double up as a devices to check the tread of your tire and check tire pressure. Let’s hope we’ve extended the life of a few tires, got some bad ones off the road and saved people some gas money.
Aside from educating Autoshow-goers, the team managed a spare 5 minutes during their lunch break to drool over some of the innovative cars at the show. Here are some highlights:
The McClaren P1 – So, so pretty. Believe it or not, this is a hybrid car!
The Dodge Challenger RT Shaker. A classic looking, 100% thoroughbred muscle car.
This guy’s licence plate… 110% mus(s)cle!
Given our focus on sustainability, it was encouraging to see even more electric and hybrid cars at the show.
The Porsche 2014 Panamera Hybrid
The Smart Car Electric Coupe – we reckon it’s a doozy for nipping around that Toronto traffic.
Next up is the Ottawa-Gatineau Auto Show March 21st-23rd and we can’t wait!
