YMCA UnveilingIt’s fun to stay at the YMCA! And it’s going to be a lot more fun starting in November. Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) and YMCA of Greater Toronto Area are thrilled to unveil the results of the 2013 OTS Student Design Challenge.

The winners of the 2013 OTS Student Design Challenge, University of Toronto students David Garcia Gonzalez, Jessica Wagner, and Gregory Bunker, had less than two days to create their proposed redesign for the concourse located outside the YMCA’s Yonge and Grosvenor location in downtown Toronto. In October, this dream team will unveil the fruits of their labour.

The OTS Student Design Challenge was created to help revitalize urban environments through creative uses of recycled tire products and sustainable design. The Challenge offers students the opportunity to have their own concept implemented within a meaningful community organization using environmentally progressive products made from recycled tires. The competition helps stimulate ongoing innovation around the use of sustainable materials to meet the needs of our growing communities.

On November 12, 2014, we’d love for you to join us in celebrating this great day where we showcase amazing design and innovative and sustainable recycled tire products. Stay tuned for the time of our unveiling event.
