As a result of on-going consultations with stakeholders, OTS has determined that it is necessary to amend the Tire Classification document published on January 31st, 2013 to provide more specific direction to Stewards regarding the Classes in which Agricultural tires should be reported.

This direction regarding the classification of Agricultural tires is effective retroactively to April 1st, 2013, and any Agricultural tires meeting the Criteria listed in the revised Tire Classification document should be reported according to the revised Criteria, and the Tire Stewardship Fee (TSF) coincident with that Class should be remitted to OTS. OTS has also revised the TSF table to reflect this new direction regarding the classification of Agricultural tires (see changes to Class 6 and 8) and this revised table is available on the OTS website at http://rethinktires.ca/program-participants/stewards/tsf-fee-chart/.

To support Stewards in adopting these changes, OTS has updated two documents that Stewards will need:

If you have questions regarding these changes or the Ontario Used Tires Program, please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@rethinktires.ca or by phone at 1-888-687-2202 with any questions you may have.
