Back at the 2015 Canadian International Auto Show

We were so thrilled with the turnout at last year’s Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) that Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) was back, full throttle, in 2015 spreading the tire recycling word to car enthusiasts in Toronto.

Car lovers across Ontario made it out to the show—in an extreme cold alert no less—to check out the latest models from their favourite car manufacturers and get a sneak peek at the concept cars that spur the creativity and fuel the future of the automotive industry.

Booth at 2015 Auto Show

The CIAS was a packed affair, and our ambassadors were able to speak with thousands of attendees, educating them about Ontario’s Used Tires Program, proper tire maintenance, and the innovative and sustainable products made from old tires.

Booth guests were given a hands-on education as they had the opportunity to touch and feel a selection of the many products made from recycled tires, including rubber mulch, roofing shakes, landscaping tiles, playground surfacing and so much more. People also walked away with a conversation starter, a jar opener made from 100 per cent recycled rubber from old tires.

As usual, the OTS team took some time to swoon over the most luxurious sports cars the show had to offer. Here are our favourites (in no particular order!):

Acura NSX 2015 Auto Show

The Acura NSX left nothing to the imagination. Its gorgeous body and luxurious interior was on display for all show-goers to gawk over.

Audi R8 Spyder 2015 Auto Show

Its attractive curves and angles made the Audi R8 Spyder a car to be desired, even by the youngest of show-goers.

Jaguar F-Type Project 7 2015 Auto Show

With a limited production, it was no surprise the 2016 Jaguar F-Type Project 7 was a key attraction. Only seven were made for Canada, and all are sold. For many, the 2015 CIAS was the one and only chance at a glance of this beauty.

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2015 Auto Show

Not only is the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 incredibly aerodynamic, it also includes an industry-first Performance Data Recorder, recording the drivers’ POV with a high-definition camera, cockpit audio and GPS-based data. This car is a performance aficionado’s dream come true.

Ford GT 2015 Auto Show

The 2017 Ford GT slashed right into Canadian hearts when it was revealed that it would be built close to home in Markham, Ontario.

As always, the 2015 CIAS was a blast. We enjoyed talking to all the car enthusiasts and their family and friends.
