This may not come as a huge surprise, but our resolution for 2017 was to help make our planet greener. Through the help of Ontarians, in the past year we have maintained a 99% diversion rate for used tires, keeping them out of landfills and turning them into products you see at your local playground, around the rinks you skate on and even in your own home and backyard! And we know that you are contributing to the health of our planet in many ways too!

If you know us, you know that we never rest on our laurels, and neither should you. There are many ways to be more eco-friendly every day, and what better way to start the New Year than by thinking of all the things you can start, or continue, to do to support a greener planet.

Try out these simple changes you can make to your daily habits to help improve the environment now and for future generations:

  1. Use reusable bags and containers for grocery shopping, packing lunches, and storing leftovers.
  1. Select products that are returnable, reusable or refillable.
  1. When purging items from your home, give away or donate gently used items.
  1. Dispose of products such as tires, batteries, and paint properly. Check with your local municipality on what can be recycled in your community.
  1. Purchase items made of recycled materials, such as recycled paper and products designed from recycled tire rubber.
