OTS Announces Release of Work Products from Rubberized Asphalt Project

14.11.12 | Announcements

OTS is pleased to announce the release of three studies/projects undertaken in support of the development of the Rubberized Asphalt Market here in Ontario:

  • A report on Rubberized Asphalt Specifications in jurisdictions internationally;
  • A survey of international jurisdictions with a special focus on those using Rubberized Asphalt in cold-weather road conditions;
  • A Technical Manual for road engineers, Asphalt producers, and contractors providing information on the effective use of Rubberized Asphalt, guidance on preparing mixes using rubber and techniques and tips on how to maximize its utility and benefit (this Report is a final draft, we are soliciting feedback from industry on the document);

The development of the Rubberized Asphalt market in Ontario is a priority for OTS as it promises to deliver a sustainable market for Ontario tire recyclers while also supporting the construction of longer-lasting, lower cost roads for Ontarians. OTS is committed to working with all the stakeholders involved in the design, construction, use and maintenance of Ontario roads to bring this technology, proven in jurisdictions around the world, to the province.
